Forklift Operators Training

According to the forklift regulations (Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 29, Section 1910.178) anyone who operates a powered industrial truck—at your facility, that is a forklift—must receive training before operating the equipment.  By the end of this training session, you will be able to: Understand the characteristics of a forklift, including differences from driving a car, controls and instruments, motor operation, steering, and other instructions, warnings, and precautions.  Understand the basic principles of operating a forklift safely and skillfully.  Identify the hazards of operating a forklift under various conditions in the workplace.  Apply general principles for safely operating a forklift.  Properly inspect and maintain a forklift.  This serves as initial training and must be combined with training on a forklift at your workplace, training specific to conditions at the workplace, and any additional training specified in the forklift manufacturer’s instruction manual. (Viewing length 35 minutes, 10 question quiz, 2 page student guide, total estimated training time 1 hour.)
